Classic Films in Schools and Movie Theaters
Welcome to Movie Memories, a nonprofit organization committed to keeping the art of classic films alive, those from Hollywood’s Golden Age. Movie Memories plans to honor the actors, directors, and cinematographers of classic films by presenting retrospectives of their work throughout the country. Often these retrospectives will include a relative or colleague of the honoree as host, a panel discussion, and a memorabilia display. Additionally, we will be offering teaching programs that use classic films in schools as a teaching tool in a variety of subjects, including both World and American History, English, foreign languages, Social Studies, Drama, and Speech, complete with study guides to use in teaching and a list of questions for the students. Schools report that teaching using films is both fun and interesting for both teacher and student.
Schools program: If you are interested in our teaching program, please feel free to contact us. If you have particular classic films you would like to use in teaching, we will prepare study guides for you in whatever subject you need. There is no cost to the school.
Retrospectives: If you want someone connected with classic film honored – relative, friend, someone you admire connected with film, or a hometown person, please feel free to contact us. We can host it and do all of the preparations, hold a reception, do publicity, sell tickets, write program notes, prepare the program, whatever you need for the event. Please feel free to contact us at any time.
